The overfall in Miles Inlet.

5 years ago, i didnt get a chance to really watch this overfall, its quite amazing, when the tide is very low, as it was that day, there is a big reef, which totally blocks off the little inlet beyond, but then, slowly, as the water comes up, it starts filling up, and after 30 minutes or so, it runs very hard, a two sided waterfall is created, then it totally covers the whole reef, like nothing was there in the first place, fascinating to watch!!

May 14, Tess’ birthday!!

The weather had been iffy, not too great to go around Cape Caution as yet, we traveled to Miles Inlet, a great place to hide, with enough room for several boats, we stayed here 5 years ago also, and would go out in the dinghy , to the entrance , to have a peek outside, this time there was a blow for a couple of days, so we wanted to wait for the swell to go down, in hindsight we should have waited another day, because when we did take off, the swells were very uncomfortable, but first a couple of photos from Miles Inlet, then i will tell more of good old Cape Caution.

Dit is voor mijn broer en schoonzusje!!!! Everyone, here we go again!!

So, on May 13th we headed for Blunden harbour, we anchored behind Baraka Bashad, and our other boating friends followed behind us.     Blunden harbour is nice and big, lots of room, also with lots of history of the First nations. As we came in, SV MAPLELEAF was anchored close to the entrance, such a beautiful boat, it would be amazing to go on a cruise with her!!
