Dundas island and on to Prince Rupert.
We left Foggy Bay on Aug. 30, the weather was good again, a one meter ocean swell was on the outside, so no problem to cross Dixon Entrance . We saw a herd ( i think thats what they are called), of humpback whales, but couldnt get close to them, took us 5 hours to get to Brundige Inlet, where my plants were, i hoped, and good anchoring. Sun was out again, Bert went fishing on the outside, and i just watched the birds, listened to the calls of the Sandhill Cranes. There was a family of Red throated loons here, a pair with three young ones, every time a parent left , they became very quiet, but when he or she flew back in again, a total dance and song followed, they all would life out of the water, and dance on top, calling loudly all the while, what a performance!!!! My plans we found out the next morning, were done for, i think it was just too cold, but the bag of my special soil was another story, i bought the soil in Comox, when dry it is very light, but once you add water, it expands 4x its volume… so… a critter had bitten into the bag, water got it, and yes, it started expanding, by the time i picked it up, it was huge, and weighed a ton!!!!!! I had to trow a lot away, kept just enough for the micro greens.
Amazing sky in Foggy Bay.
