Big, beautiful fish!!
From Alston Cove we went further up Laredo Inlet, into the Bay of Plenty, not sure plenty of what, but we were to find out!! Its a beautiful bay too, no one here again, and the next morning, sun shining, Bert went fishing, i did some beading , made a gift for a very dear friend, for her birthday, After a few hours, while i listened to the eagles, talking up a blue streak with each other, Bert came back, with this smurk on his face….aahhh… he caught something!! Remember the photo a while back?? A fish thiiiisss big????? Get your camera he said, so this must be a price winner!!! In his bucket he had a huge orange face, staring back at me, big mouth, full of teeth and two most beautiful yellow eyes; a yellow eyed Rock fish!!!! We thanked this fellow , for giving us two beautiful meals, Bert cut two large fillets, plus, he had some rock cod too, the eagles were oh so interested, and everytime one was cleaned, Bert would throw the leftovers in the water, and if they didnt sink, (we found out later , to leave the air in the eyes intact), the eagles would swoop down!! They became very daring, once they realized , that we were harmless. So, there you go, Bay of Plenty indeed!!!!
Now, this one was definately looking back at us!!

Very interesting reflections…
When we arrived in Alston Cove, the tide was quite high, almost flood, and we saw , in the rocks , these very strange shapes, a reflection of the cracks in the rocks, here are some pictures, to show you what we saw. The funny thing is, we never saw them again, so the light must have been just right, the surface very quiet, and the water level just the right height.
