Kale chips.

I make my own kale chips, its a great snack and very good for you, to buy them, you have to spend a small fortune, $7.99 per bag, small bag that is!!!!
I buy the kale with the big, curly leaves, then strip off the green, in small pieces, away from the veins of the leaf, wash them well, then dry.
I dry them in my salad spinner…..
put them in a large bowl, mix in two tablespoons of olive oil, and salt and pepper to taste. I use ” Herbamare “, instead of salt. mix well, then lay them out on a cookie sheet, not touching each other, put in 320 F or 160 C, for about 15 minutes, they will shrink and turn color a bit, check them after 15 minutes, they should be flat and crispy. Cool them and put in a container of your liking.

  1. Thank you for sharing this! I’ve been wanting to try making kale chips for a while now! Also, Neil and I are back in Seattle for about 6 months, so if you find yourselves venturing south, please do let us know! ~Jessie

    • So glad to hear from you!! we were a bit worried!! you are very smart to stay in Seattle for 6 months, it will go by so fast, where is the boat?? We will try to come and see you, we would probably come with our Westfalia, and camp nearby. can you send me an email with your phone number? so we can contact you!!
Hope you have fun making the kale chips, i did notice that its a good idea to pack them with some of those little packages that keep the moisture away, i am not too sure whats in them…..take care, stay in touch!!!hugs!!!
