Heading north….

Finally i get a chance to write again, its hard to have a good connection, in most places, the signal is too weak. We left Meyers Chuck on August 14, beautiful sunny day, and went through Ernest Sound to Santa Anna Inlet, an anchorage recommended to us. And it was so worth it, we had a powerboat ahead of us, and they anchored at the head of the bay, we didnt want to sit close , so decided to anchor halfway into the bay, but they called us on the VHF , that there was lots of room, plus there was a beautiful little river flowing out into the bay, fed by lake Helen in behind.  I am so glad we did go there, i took my kayak out, and paddled right up to the river, big salmon sat there, waiting to go up., i bumped into one, could have grabbed him, plus, there are Rainbow Trout there too, coming and going into the lake. A family of otters played on the shore, eagles every where, again, one of those spots you just want to stay……The trees are magnificent here, huge areas are protected, the Sitka are huge, and the Hemlocks are  works of art, not at all like the Hemlocks further south. Devils Club grows underneath, at least 8′ tall  with huge clusters of red berries. A black bear came out on the shore, turning the odd rock, we watched him for a long time. The other boat had an elderly couple on board, who quietly sat and watched us in our kayaks, so, something for everyone!!!!
