Keeping going till Port Hardy.

It took us 8.9 hours to get around Cape Caution, but the weather was great, sun came out, swell was not too big, so we decided to go to Port Hardy, and to  see from there what to do.  Our original plan was to stay in Sointula for the winter months, we love that place, but because Annie was not doing so well, we decided it would be too hard to take her to the vet ,we would have to walk the 45 minutes to the ferry, carry her all the way, then the ferry ride, walk again to the vet, no, not a good idea, so we had a look in Port Hardy, but, i found the marina not nice, and again, like in Petersburg, the smell of the fish oil was over whelming, i cannot handle that for a whole winter.. We stayed a few nights, and met a very nice couple  from the  motor vessel “Evening Star”, a beautiful Grand Banks Classic 42, Carole and Sunny, their homeport was Seward, Alaska, and Sunny had some incredible stories of living that far north. Carole makes jewelry like i do, and we both use buttons for closures, so we exchanged some , her work is beautiful, and very different from mine.   They are on their way to the U.S, south to work on the boat, and see family.   There is lots of bird life in Port Hardy, gulls every where, eagles too, because the fishing boats throw the scraps in the water, there is fish every where.
