We saw several spouts already, as soon as we neared Fraser reach, they were all humpbacks, close to the shores, we figure that they rub on the seaweed, and feed close to shore, they seem to stay close the the rocks also. In Princess Royal Channel we were treated to a very special sight, the ferry had just gone by, it was quite narrow there, and close to us, near the shore, a humpback whale breached , twice, we stood there , just incapable of doing anything, leave alone grabbing the camera, it would have just been too late. These enormous bodies, lifting straight out of the water, Bert thought maybe that they did it because of the ferry,going by so close, there has been a lot of research done , about the soundwaves and noises coming from passing ships, how it bothers the whales.
